Frequntly Asked Questions
FAQ
01.
Do you charge travel fees?
I absolutely love to travel and photograph in new locations. If travel is more than 3+ I charge a flat $500 for an overnight + gas. If travel is a flight away, I charge for the flight + the $500 for overnight + car rental/uber. Traveling brings so much inspiration into my life which expands me as a photographer.
02.
Will we get all of our high resolution images?
Yes, you will! Not like other photographers who charge you for high resolution images and force you to print with exclusively them, I hand over all the high resolution edited images. I see no point in keeping those images hostage on my computer when you and your family could be enjoying them all in high resolution. I am here to do one job and it's to document your day then to provide you with all the memories I captured.
03.
How long does it take to get our images back?
For weddings it takes up to 5 weeks to get your full gallery back, typically sooner unless it's a busy wedding month. I always provide a small sneak peak gallery within the week after your wedding, but the full gallery will come within the month. For photo sessions, full galleries will be sent over within 5 weeks.
04.
Do you bring a second shooter for weddings?
I do bring a second assistant shooter for weddings. I find it most important to have a second shooter for the ceremony and when we split for family photos and cocktail hour. It is great to have two angles of the important moments and especially the ease of knowing those moments won't be missed.
05.
Do you provide the RAW images?
Unfortunately, no. I strongly believe that the editing of a photograph is almost the important part of my "style". There are so many photographers out there with the exact same gear, but it comes down to the settings and editing for the final product to come out like it does. So for that reason, I never provide RAW images because it's not my full work until it's complete. I confidently select all the best photos from the day and edit with my style from there. If you feel there was any missed photos, please reach out and I could go through the raw images!
06.
Do you require a deposit, if so how much?
For weddings, I require 25% down of whichever package you select for the deposit. That 25% goes towards your final amount which isn't due until one month prior to your wedding. After paying your deposit and signing the contract, we are all locked in for your big day! For regular photo sessions, I don't require a deposit, just pay via the invoice I send you in the days leading up to your session.
07.
Do you provide recommended vendors?
I have worked with so many amazing vendors in the wedding industry over the last ten years. If you have a specific style or idea in mind, I am sure I can help you with finding a vendor to provide that! It's amazing to work with vendors who all have a similar style and goals in mind for your wedding day. Magic happens when all vendors align and create something amazing for you for your big day.
08.
Is a shot list necessary?
I understand that providing a shot list makes you feel at ease and I totally support the providing a list of must have photos. When it comes to the basic "mom with siblings" or "groom with parents" it's not very necessary to have that all written down. After years of capturing families at weddings, I have a good rhythm down to involve and capture all the key people in your life. I also send out a questionnaire a few weeks before your wedding to fill me in any specific photos you definitly DON"T want missed!
